Winter Blanket Collection

We’re proud to partner with the Salvation Army again for our fourth annual winter collection. This year we’ll be collecting pyjamas to support those vulnerable in our local community

A Christchurch Tram will be parked in Cathedral Square from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday 8 July to collect brand-new winter pyjamas in children’s, women’s and men’s sizes. Donations will be distributed by the Salvation Army to individuals and families needing extra support this winter.

To say thank you, donors will receive a complimentary adult Christchurch Tram ticket valued at $42, and up to three children can travel free with the accompanying adult during the winter school holidays as part of our Kids Go Free offer.

Christchurch Attractions CEO Marty Byrne says, ‘We’re delighted to be working with the Salvation Army for a fourth consecutive year on such an important initiative. Winter nights in Christchurch can be especially cold, so helping provide warm pyjamas is a meaningful way to help people in need. We hope to see plenty of Cantabrians joining us in Cathedral Square to support this fantastic cause.’

The organisations ask that all donated items are new and have tags attached, and they are grateful for every contribution.

Please join us in Cathedral Square on Wednesday 8 July and help keep our community warm this winter by donating a pair of pyjamas.
