We’re proud to be partnering with the Salvation Army again this winter to collect new blankets and other bedding to support vulnerable members of our local community.
A Christchurch Tram will be parked in Cathedral Square from 11am – 2pm on Friday 4 July 2025 to receive donations of new blankets, duvets, and comforters. These will be collected by the Salvation Army and distributed to those in need of extra warmth during the colder months.
To say thank you, donors will receive a complimentary adult Christchurch Tram ticket valued at $40, and up to three children can accompany the adult for free on board the tramcars.
Christchurch Attractions CEO Marty Byrne says, ‘We’re delighted to be working with the Salvation Army again in 2025 for such an important cause. Winters in Christchurch can be particularly harsh, especially overnight, so being able to support our community with donations of warm bedding is one small way we can make a difference. We hope to see plenty of Cantabrians coming together in Cathedral Square to support this meaningful initiative.’
Please note: only new items can be accepted this year, as the cost of dry-cleaning used bedding is too high.
We hope you’ll join us in Cathedral Square on Friday 4 July to help wrap our community in warmth this winter.
