Thoroughly enjoyed our trip down the river and learnt a few things on the way 😊

We had one day in Christchurch (29/09/25), and very happy we chose to combine the tram with the punting experience. We initially hesitated due to cost but the river punting is well worth it.

All the staff at check-in were excellent, great customer service and very welcoming whilst we waiting for our boat ride to start. The boats are gorgeous and the uniforms worn by the staff add a lot to the experience. Very well organised check in process and organising different groups onto each of the boats.

We were really hoping to get back seat on the boat to be higher up, and for better photos and were lucky to get our request when the staff assigned seating.

Unfortunately have forgotten our punter’s name, but he was absolutely fantastic. Very interesting and engaging commentary on the history of the river, the boats and the different sites we passed along the river. He even posed in the back of several selfies we took whilst on the boat.

You need to punt on the Avon when in Christchurch. It's a wonderfully pleasant ride. Our guide Abbey was extremely knowledgeable and a great tour guide. Remember to book in advance because it is very popular.

We had a great time with the family. Chris, our guide, was fantastic and made a memorable afternoon with his wits and parting knowledge at the same time. Highly recommended

It was a fantastic and dare I say it (very English) experience, but with a New Zealand flavour. Nathaniel (our 'punter') provided an enjoyable and informative commentary. Absolutely loved the experience....a 'must do' for any new visitor to Christchurch.

Went punting yesterday with the family on my daughter’s 6th birthday. She was made to feel so special from everyone including a passing boat all singing her happy birthday. Great, friendly service! Shane our punter was knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic little punting experience with Shane. He introduced us to all the ducks and we got to learn so much about the botanic gardens and varieties of trees.

Great experience, well worth it. You can never go too far wrong being guided by a fellow Irishman John, Knowledge and witty. 👍
