COVID-19 Protection Framework

at Christchurch & Hanmer Springs Attractions

What the traffic light system means for Christchurch & Hanmer Springs Attractions

Christchurch & Hanmer Springs Attractions has adopted the COVID-19 Protection Framework to ensure our attractions can operate as freely as possible while keeping our staff and visitors safe.

Under the traffic light system visitors to our businesses will need to :

  • Be double vaccinated and show their government My Vaccine Pass on arrival (for those aged 12 years 3 months and over)
  • Scan in using the NZ COVID Tracer App
  • Wear a mask in all indoor areas
  • Comply with any additional public health measures that are in place at the time of their visit

Our staff and contractors will be complying with these points as well, and sanitiser will be available for guests and staff to use.

Under the current traffic light system we will be open at green and orange levels, and will be open at red level with some restrictions in place: these include limited and spaced seating for the Tramway Restaurant, spaced seating limited to a maximum of 100 people at the Gondola’s Red Rock Cafe, and spaced seating on the public Trams.

For visitors affected by the framework who can no longer use Annual Passes, existing tickets or vouchers, we are happy to discuss this with you. Please contact us at info@christchurchattractions.nz.

We hope to welcome you to our attractions soon.

FAQs

Do I need to wear a mask?

The traffic light system recommends masks are worn at all levels, so we are asking our guests and staff to continue wearing their masks indoors at all traffic light levels. Guests under the aged of 12 do not need to wear masks.

Do I need to scan in?

Yes, scanning in using the NZ COVID Tracer App (or manually signing in) is required at all traffic light levels. Please ensure you scan in before entering our premises.

Do children under 12 need to show their My Vaccine Pass?

No, children under the age of 12 years and 3 months do not require double vaccinations or My Vaccine Passes as per the Government’s advice.

If I’m travelling as part of a group, can we let you know in advance by phone or email that everyone in the group has been double vaccinated without having to show our My Covid Passes?

Please note that we will need to sight and/or verify all My Covid Passes of guests 12 years 3 months and over entering our attractions, so we will need to see the passes of everyone in the group on arrival.

What do I do if I’m not double vaccinated and can’t use my Annual Pass or other tickets or vouchers?

Please contact us at info@christchurchattractions.nz with details about your pass or tickets and we will discuss this with you.

I’m double vaccinated but don’t have a My Vaccine Pass. Can I still enter your attractions?

Unfortunately we do need to sight and/or verify your My Vaccine Pass on arrival to allow entry to our attractions. If you don’t already have a My Vaccine Pass you can visit the covid19.govt.nz website or phone 0800 222 478 to get your pass.

Can I enter your attractions if I have a vaccination exemption?

Guests with a temporary medical exemption from vaccination with a government-issued My Vaccine Pass will be able to present this to our staff to enter our attractions. Please note we cannot accept any other exemptions.
